Keeping you connected every step of the way.
Communication is an important part of how we support learning and development, and we make sure you are connected to your child’s experiences each day. Through tools like Storypark and Tāku Pukapuka, we share milestones, learning stories, and special moments so you can celebrate and be part of your child’s growth both at our centres and at home.
Storypark
Sharing your child’s day is an important way to strengthen the relationship between children, whānau and teachers. It enables you to relive important moments in a private online community that grows with your child over time.
What is Storypark?
Storypark is a secure website and app where learning stories and magic moments, photos and videos of your child’s day are shared. Storypark enables teachers to communicate about on your child’s learning and development as it happens, and you can even comment back! It’s a great way to tell us about what’s happening at home so that even more connections and relationships can be formed between our teachers and your family.
Storypark is also how we communicate with you about what’s going on in your early learning community. We’ll upload newsletters, events and interesting discussion topics, such as excursions, parent evenings and other chances for you to be involved in your child’s learning and community.

Tāku Pukapuka - your child's learning portfolio
Alongside Storypark, we also capture learning through Tāku Pukapuka – an individual portfolio created with and for your child.
Tāku Pukapuka is a scrapbook-style collection that grows over time, filled with photos, artwork, stories, and learning moments. Our kaiako and educators work with your child to build this special book, recording their progress, interests, and milestones. Narrative assessments and wall displays also help to make your child’s learning visible, creating a rich picture of their growth and development.
This portfolio is shared with you regularly so you can see and celebrate your child’s learning journey. When your child moves on from Barnardos Early Learning, Tāku Pukapuka is gifted to your whānau as a treasured keepsake – a lasting reminder of their early years, experiences, and achievements.
